The satyr sat, crossing his legs and peered up at Bail. With a sigh, Bail settled on the other side of the stump. Rhyssen beamed and began to pull his boots off. The boy gaped as two sets of five toes wiggled at him.

"I thought satyr's had goat feet!" he exclaimed.

Rhyssen frowned at him, his ears pivoting back in what Bail took to be upset. "Fauns have hooves, satyrs do not."

"There's a difference?"

"Aye, fauns have short tails, like a goat. They're goat from the waist down, really. They're also much shorter than even satyrs. Their magic is also different. We're more fire and lighting. Their magics are wood in source. They're tree-huggers."

"You mean they're not deviants." Bail stated as he pulled off his own boots.

Rhyssen smirked, his horse's tail twitching in amusement. "Precisely."
